This support site was created for the Old Testament History course in the
RLAB class at Smithfield United Methodist Church (SUMC). The starting
date for the class is January 20, 2008. Various support materials and
information for the course are provided on this site.
Course Books
Main Book
The main textbook for all classes in this course is the Christian Bible. The English
Standard Version (ESV) is the translation most commonly used by the
teacher in the class. However, any of the translations in the Revised
Standard Version (RSV) tradition are fine (as are any translations) for
use. Thus, the suggested translations to use are:
English Standard Version - ESV
New Revised Standard Version - NRSV
Revised Standard Version - RSV
Supplementary Books
